For an intimate experience in the wild, tour the Carolina Tiger Rescue at dusk, the time of day when tigers and lions are most active. While all tours can accommodate up to 25 ticket holders, twilight tours are held during evening hours as the sun sets at the 67-acre sanctuary located between Jordan Lake and Pittsboro. These tours are available through October and limited to those ages 18 and older.
In a separate event this summer, the nonprofit rescue hosts its second annual Tiger Day 5K, a virtual fun run held from July 22 to 29. All proceeds benefit the animals at the sanctuary. Register here for the race.
