The George Moses Horton PTSA is proud to present the 2nd annual Color Run & Walk, which takes place the morning of April 1st at the George Moses Horton Middle School campus.
Not to be mistaken for a race (though we won’t turn away any gazelles, cheetahs or Usain Bolts who show up…), the GMH Color Run & Walk is a fun, inclusive community activity where participants complete laps around the school at their own pace, getting dusted with colored corn starch at color stations. After one, three and five laps participants may enter into raffles for student- or adult-oriented prizes. The starting line is by the Boys & Girls Club building. Just above it is our “midway” – usually the bus lot – featuring an inflatable and the sounds of DJ Jorge Blanco.
Community members may register online at https://app.memberhub.gives/f6b849/Campaign/Details. Participants may also register on-site between 9:00 and 9:45 a.m. on the day of the race.
Our goal as the George Moses Horton PTSA is to raise $10,000 which, among other things, will fund water filtration stations, playground updates, teacher appreciation and classroom supplies.
Please send any questions to GMH PTSA President Kasandra Granger at [email protected].
- For the safety of our runners and walkers, we are closing both entrances to George Moses Horton to vehicles from 9:45 a.m. until the last runner or walker finishes (no later than 11:00 a.m.).
- The loop around GMH Middle is .8 miles. Three loops equal about 2 ½ miles, and five loops equal 3 ½.
- Information about the washable, non-toxic color dust used at the Color Run & Walk can be found at schoolathon.org/color-dust-information.
